Sync licensing and flexibility in the face of COVID-19 with Shellie Lewis Sync licensing and flexibility in the face of COVID-19 with Shellie Lewis

Shellie Lewis is the business development manager at SyncFloor. In this episode we talk about the importance of organization, the future of production post-COVID-19, and having flexibility in the face of change. It’s an odd time to be alive right now, and life is going to be a bit different when we begin to return to normal.

Sync licensing can be a very lucrative career. And it can be more lucrative, and you can see more success, if you're staying organized with your music. For example, sending a music supervisor your SoundCloud link and saying, “Here’s my latest track.” is going to get you put on the no-go list. Who owns the master and publishing? How much does each person own? Are there any samples? Where’s the download link? Those are the questions you need to think about when pitching to music supervisors. Make it as easy as possible for them to find and use your music.
